MoonCatchers Returns to Heartfelt Gratitude in Pallisa ~ Uganda Day 7
195 Girls Travel to Hear MoonCatchers
We spent the day in Pallisa, a community two and a half hours North of Jinja.
Here we visited a previously established Mooncatcher sewing guild and vocational school.
They welcomed us with handmade baskets and words of thanks for coming to work with their sewing guild and for giving a menstrual management class to 195 girls, from there and nearby schools.

We passed out our MoonCatcher kits to a sea of smiling faces.
Eleven girls entertained us with song and dance. One of the songs even incorporated our names into the words. Jane, the director, said kind words to us and school administrators attended. Even a journalist was there to take photos and tell our story.

One girl stood to say,
“Thank you for coming back.”
I think too often organizations make promises here and do not follow through.
MoonCatchers will certainly return to keep their promises.
Afterwards, we delivered a new overlock sewing machine to the guild and taught them how to use it. They were thrilled, as the capabilities of this new machine will help immensely with their work.

Certain days stand out in our memories, and the sincere gratitude of these beautiful people has touched our hearts today.
