A New School Touched by MoonCatchers ~ Malawi Day 7

May 3, 2017 0 comments Article Malawi Ellie

37 girls filled with knowledge and gratitude…

This morning we walked over to Jackie and Peter’s house to pick up Jackie for our menstrual management class.

It was pretty overcast but Phoebe promised me that there would be no rain. She has a sense for these things.

The Class was great with 37 girls showing up. They eventually warmed up, asked questions and caught on very quickly when we taught how to plot one’s cycle.

We gave out our 12 kits and promised the girls they would all get one as well as the girls who didn’t show up.

We hear that’s about 500 girls and that’s just one school. Yikes! This new sewing group sure has its work cut out for it.

We left from the school for Lilongwe along with 4 other people. It was a pretty ride with plenty to see. I love the trees in bloom and the strange shaped mountains as well as the unusual birds that flew around us.

We shopped carefully but with purpose trying not to waste a minute as the drive time is long and we had a lot to accomplish. We were fairly successful and only forgot one thing which Jackie assures us she will find for us after we leave.

We rolled in after 9:00 and now at 11:30 I’m so tired I can barely write this. A lovely tilapia dinner was waiting for us as a last night’s special treat.

This is the dearest family. We will miss them.

We leave for Lake Malawi tomorrow for a day of swimming and who knows what and then home on Saturday.
