No time for jet lag here, as we kicked off our first day back in Uganda on International Women’s Day. We delivered bags and bags of sewing supplies and sewing machines to our Ugandan ambassador, Phoebe.
Phoebe operates a sewing cooperative of women in a converted container in her backyard.

Alongside Phoebe’s sewers, we spent the day learning the process of soap making.
The intention is that the critical component of soap would be added to the Mooncatcher menstrual pad kit which is given free of charge to Ugandan girls.

The camaraderie of these women working and laughing together is a thing of beauty. Women supporting fellow women resonated especially deeply today as we made important progress in our mission to empower young girls in Uganda and around the globe. Happy International Women’s Day to all.
